How long have you been volunteering with Capital Pride KY? I have volunteered with Capital Pride since the inaugural pride event in 2017

What do you do with Capital Pride KY? I am currently the President and one of the Directors of the organization.

Why is Capital Pride KY important? Capital Pride Kentucky is the first local non-profit with a mission to support the LGBTQ+ community in Frankfort/Franklin County and surrounding areas. One of the goals of Capital Pride Kentucky is to facilitate the creation of meaningful social bonds between the LGBTQ+ community and the non-LGBTQ+ community.

What is your favorite part of volunteering with Capital Pride KY? My favorite part of volunteering is to see all of the smiling faces at our annual festival. To have a pride festival requires a lot of planning and hard work, but having a safe space where everyone can be themselves, even if only for a few hours, it’s worth all of the effort.
